When my son Ryan was only four years old, all he knew about deacons was that his daddy was one, they had meetings, and they wore ties.
That year, we took Ryan to Pinnacle Peak Steak House for the first time. If you've never been to Tucson, AZ to that restaurant, when a visitor enters wearing a tie, a server ringing a cowbell comes to the table with a pair of scissors and cuts off your tie. Their collection of cut-off ties hangs from the rafters all over the restaurant.
Ryan looked up at that collection of ties and said "Whoaaa.....Deacon Meeting!"
